Alexandria was brilliant, even if we did get stuck in a Byzantine tomb overnight due to blatant incompetence on the part of the site coordinator as well as the crew chief. But enough of that. Break's over and back to work work work. Nunez has me training up an intern. Nice enough fellow, but real wet behind the ears. Top notch education, good control and strong magic, and most importantly real enthusiasm. No experience to speak of, of course. It should be interesting. Whup! | 1:39 pm | Secure owl post to Kieran Aðalsteinn, Aðalsteinn & Son Master Aðalsteinn, I just received the rings. They're great, perfect even, except for one problem. The inscription has a really unfortunate punctuation error. The comma is in the wrong place on both rings; I think you'll see what I mean. This is the correct inscription: "We shall be one, and one another's all." Thanks for your help in fixing this. I don't think my fiancee would understand at all if our rings said we belong to other people. | 3:09 am | (private post) Awake Caterers had her well nigh in tears tonight. Frustrated and despairing and at a loss. So now I'm in charge of the food and drink. As long as caterers aren't involved, how hard could it be? All the parts of a dinner. I know what parts go into dinner and I know where to get them, too. Restaurants deliver too, yeah? And I bet Mahmed's mum would be willing to make her basbousa if I ask nicely. Yeah. That's not a problem, I can do the food, yeah? And the drinks and making sure Gravesy has something for the children and those who won't be imbibing. Just not a good time to confess I read a private journal entry of hers back when. And she still doesn't need to know that two weeks in Alexandria may end up being a tent in Luxor given the success rate I'm having. And this time she's asking, angling for answers I can't give her, instead of won't. At least I have a line on a wedding present. Dad said "I got your Mum a clock" and the light went on. The place Dad bought from isn't in Diagon anymore, and seems like not many make those clocks anymore. But I saw a brochure in Luna's library for "Timepieces by Hart" or "with Hart" or something like that. Find the address and pay them a visit. Merlin, I'm tired. Current Mood:  awake |
